I am Nathaniel Wonderful, an author, translator, and trans man, crafting stories for literary adults and deep thinkers who savour books like aged wine, reading between the lines and pondering their hidden depths.

I was born in the Czech Republic and am presently sojourning in Costa Rica, preparing to move to Japan. I live with my beloved wife and co-author, Raine Stonewall, a trans woman of admirable strength and grace.

Having self-published five literary fantasy novels in my native tongue, I translate and weave these slow-burn epic and dark sagas of morally grey souls in a harsh world into new editions in British English.

I am an avid reader, deeply immersed in the realms of psychology, philosophy, history, and mythology. Amongst the many authors who have stirred my soul, I hold Tanith Lee, David Gemmell, Sergei Lukyanenko, Ladislav Fuks, C. G. Jung, and Paul Radin, though my work does not mirror theirs.

My wife and I have pursued the noble arts of historical fencing, shooting, and the crafting of weapons for many years. Our skills extend into the fields of nature and healthcare, and Raine, in times past, served the solemn duties of the funeral service. All of these interests and experiences have formed us and are reflected in our work.

As a translator for the Czech publishing house Dobrovský s.r.o., I translated Rina Kent’s romance books. Although this genre is not my cup of tea, it was an enriching experience, and I look forward to future opportunities in other genres, leveraging my fluency in English, Japanese, Spanish, and Czech.
